Working Party Recommendations to increase support for birth parents at outreach PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 22 November 2008 18:59

ARMS (Victoria) LogoThe following are a few of the recommendations the Working Party have made;

  • Adoptees provided with more information about the emotional effect on the birth parent when outreach is made
  •  Birth parent to be notified when applicant seeks information
  • More public promotion of adoption issues
  • Creation of a rural strategy to reach those unable to access support in Melbourne

ARMS is seeking your help in promoting public awareness of the support system already in place. We have made available for download an ARMS brochure which we ask that, if possible, you print out and place on your local libray noticeboard, neighbourhood house, medical practice or wherever you think is appropriate in your area.

In this way, we will not only be able to make the general public more aware of issues surrounding adoption, but will be letting other relinquishing mothers know that there is a support service available to them.

If you would like brochures sent to you to distribute, please use the contact form on the left of this page, including instruction on where you would like them posted.

Download the brochure here (in PDF format).
